KOTA, OCTOBER 7: With the aim of understanding passengers’ concerns, suggestions and experiences directly and improving railway services accordingly, the Kota Division of West Central Railway organised a ‘Rail Jan Samvad’ programme at Kota Railway Station on Wednesday.
During the interaction, railway officials spoke directly with passengers about station facilities, cleanliness, passenger amenities and other service-related issues. Similar ‘Rail Jan Samvad’ programmes were also organised at Sawai Madhopur and Indragarh Sumerganj Mandi railway stations, where passengers were invited to share their feedback and suggestions.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain said the objective of ‘Rail Jan Samvad’ was not merely to listen to passengers but also to identify their concerns and suggestions and take necessary action. Depending on the nature of the issues, solutions will be pursued on a short-term, medium-term and long-term basis by the concerned departments.
At Kota Railway Station, Divisional Commercial Manager Kishore Kumar Patel, Station Director Shashi Bhushan Sharma, Assistant Divisional Mechanical Engineer (ENHM) Praveen Kumar, Deputy Station Superintendent Vikas Gupta, along with supervisors from various departments, were present during the programme.
The officials interacted with passengers and sought their views on cleanliness, station facilities and the overall quality of passenger services.
The ‘Rail Jan Samvad’ initiative focuses on listening to passengers, maintaining direct communication with them, preparing action plans based on their suggestions, ensuring timely resolution of issues and communicating the results of the action taken.
A record of the suggestions received, action taken and the outcomes will also be maintained so that passenger feedback can be linked directly with improvements in railway services.
Through the initiative, Kota Division is seeking to strengthen regular communication between railway authorities and passengers while ensuring timely resolution of local issues and continuous improvement in passenger amenities.
