Kota, October 5: A delegation of the Kota Trade Federation met KEDL Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) Rajesh Patoudi on Monday and urged the power distribution company to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply in Kota ahead of the upcoming Navratri and Diwali festivals.
During the meeting, Federation President Kranti Jain stressed the need for inspection, servicing and maintenance of all distribution points (DPs) and transformers installed in major markets before the festive season. He said timely maintenance would help prevent power disruptions caused by overloading or technical faults during the festival period.
Jain said traders in the walled city area have been facing inconvenience due to frequent power cuts in recent times. With business activity increasing significantly during Navratri and Diwali and markets remaining open until late at night, uninterrupted power supply is essential for traders and customers.
Federation Vice-President Surendra Goyal Vichitra said potential technical problems should be identified and resolved before the festivals begin. He also urged KEDL to deploy special teams and ensure prompt restoration of power in case of faults.
Vichitra further suggested that the areas around transformers should be properly cemented to prevent the growth of trees and plants, which could create maintenance and safety-related problems.
KEDL CRM Rajesh Patoudi assured the delegation that necessary measures would be taken to ensure a smooth power supply during the festive season and that complaints would be addressed on priority.
Federation Vice-President Animesh Jain and Secretary Yash Malviya were also present during the meeting.
