Kota: A major accident was averted at JK Lone Hospital in Kota on Tuesday after the fall ceiling collapsed in Caesarean Ward-3, where mothers and newborns were admitted. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Following the collapse, hospital staff shifted all patients and newborns to a safe location as a precautionary measure. The ward has been closed and an investigation has been initiated.
Hospital Superintendent Dr Nirmala Sharma said the ward had already been closed, while construction work was underway on the roof by the Public Works Department (PWD). She said patients from a nearby ward were shifted in haste during the process, resulting in the fall ceiling collapsing.
Relatives of the patients said the ceiling fell close to the mothers and newborns, but they escaped unhurt. The hospital administration has assured that the situation is being monitored.
